Tribal Ventriloquism
This annoyed little tribal guy just wants to be left alone so he can continue his puppet play.
As with most of my drawings, I start off with a pen (Usually an Energel Needle Tip 0.7 by Pentel) and a sketchbook before even thinking about opening Photoshop.
I never have any idea what I am going to draw. Like the page, my mind is blank. I try not to think about a subject while I spread the ink. Is it an animal? Is it an alien? Is it.... anything? I almost never know until I am pretty deep into the drawing.
The struggle begins once I realize it is starting to look like something. Then I have an image to conform my lines to. That is the hard part. Up until that point, there is almost no way to go wrong, so it feels so free.
Sometimes, I bring them into Photoshop for coloring (like this one). It really depends on how much time I have to work on it.
Anyways, they almost always turn out to be aliens or monsters of some sort. Not sure what that says about my subconscious, but that's the way it is.
